Exporting and Importing Annotations
If required, you can export any of the annotations that you created. Exported annotations are be saved in the .ORSObject file format, which is a proprietary binary formatted file.
Annotations can be imported at anytime and then added to a scene.
- Do one of the following:
- Right-click the required annotation in the Data Properties and Settings panel and then choose Export as ORSObject in the pop-up menu.
- Select the required annotation in the Data Properties and Settings panel and then click the Export
icon at the bottom of the list.
- Select a destination folder and a file name in the Export to File dialog and then save the annotation.
The suggested file name is the annotation title. You might also find it useful to add a reference to the view in which the annotation was created. For example, Ruler1_XY_MMDDYYYY.
- Right-click inside the List box on the Data Properties and Settings panel and then choose Import Objects from File in the pop-up menu.
- Choose the required file in the Import Objects from File dialog.
The imported annotation is added to the Data Properties and Settings panel. You should show the annotation in the same axis representation in which it was created.
